Work Experience Details

1. Currently working as SEEC Tool and Y2K Consultant in Longs Drugs, Walnut Creek, CA, USA

Longs Drugs are the Biggest Drugs chain in California having applications on HP3000 and IBM Platforms. My Job is to analyse there Application using SEEC Tool and Rennovate them and Prepare test cases for Testing. I also work as Coordinator for SEEC in Longs to solve the Problems that Other teams which are using SEEC Tool faces.

2.Testing of SEEC Products like Smart Change and its Analysis with Object Oriented Cobol at SEEC Inc., Pittsburgh

SEEC has various Product Suite for Y2K Analysis and ReEnginnering tools. New Releases are brought up and my Job was to check if new Release Functionality was working Properly and to Report the Bugs to be Fixed by Development Group at SEEC. I worked on Smart Change, Cobol Analysis Products.

3. Worked as SEEC Tool &Y2K Consultant in NOVUS SERVICES INC., (Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter, Discover & Co.) Chicago, ILL, USA.

NOVUS SERVICES Inc. is in Credit Card Business and are using SEEC (Y2K) Tools. As Y2K Consultant My Primary job function was to give Consultancy on SEEC Tool to do Impact Analysis of NSI Applications, as well as working on IBM Mainframes for Migration of Inventory to PC. To Novus Services I Represented SEEC Inc., Pittsburgh.

4.Renovation & Testing of Applications for Year 2000 Compliance for the clients of SEEC Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, USA - Project currently being executed on site at SEEC Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, USA

The scope of this Project is to work with the SEEC team in their Projects to Analyze and Renovate the Applications for their clients to make them Year 2000 compliant, To prepare Test Plans for Testing of the Renovated Applications. At the same time understand the SEEC tool, get involved in Testing of the Tool and solve the problems, Which Consultants who are using this Tool in Tata Infotech Limited, India are facing.

5.Conversion of GEC RFS Application for YEAR 2000 compliance for General Electric Co., Stamford, USA - Project was executed at TCS O.D.C., SEEPZ, MUMBAI, INDIA.

GE-CAPITAL-RFS-RECIVABLES is the Project for General Electric Company Retail Financial Services, Stamford, USA. The Company deals in the Corporate Credit Cards. GEC-RFS Application comprises of numerous sub-systems of which one major system is the RECEVIABLE sub system. This particular Project deals in receiving the bills from the Credit Card holder in time.The Project was executed at Off Shore Development (ODC) Center, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Seepz, Mumbai, India. The Project required Impact Analysis on IDMS COBOL Programs, JCL, PROCs for Y2K Compliance.

The Responsibilities were as follows.

Looked after Windows 95 & Windows NT Installation and its Administration.

New PCs (Pentium) were allocated for the Project. I installed Windows 95 and Windows NT, Looked after Networking (IP address, Gateways etc.), Loading Anti Virus and other Software Required for the Project. I worked in close Association with TCS Operations Group and helped to solve Problems that my Team Members faced while working with Windows.

Analyzed IDMS COBOL, JCL, PROCs for Y2K Compliance manually as well as using CAT (Analysis) Tools.

Worked on IBM 3090 and Compiled Source Programs to check for Compilation Errors and missing copybooks. Downloaded COBOL Source Programs to our PCs from IBM 3090 (By FTP)

Manually Analyzed COBOL Programs for Y2K Compliance and prepared NCU (Non Compliance Usage) Report and Confirmed Date Field Report. (Reports were prepared in MS-WORD and MS-EXCEL)

Looked after Quality Standards in Documentation of Reports and did IQA (Internal Quality Reviews) and EQA (External Quality Reviews) of Reports as per ISO 9000 Procedures.

Worked with Y2K Tools on UNIX Platform to analyze COBOL Source Programs for y2k Compliance. The Tools were developed by TCS ToolGroup on UNIX Platform.The Reports generated were cross-checked Manually.Downloaded and Analyzed JCL, PROCs for Y2K Compliance.

Software in 'C' for Remedial Measures to save energy in Industrial Drives running at reduced Load Condition, done in Final Year of Engineering (1996-97)

The Project was executed using 'GRAPHICS' Library of 'C' showing various graphs in different colors. Structures were used to work with Imaginary Quantities. File input and Output functions were used to make database for Graph Files used by Application to generate Graphs.

Specific tasks achieved in the Project are

By this software all the Parameters of a machine are calculated and a database is generated which is helpful in knowing Behavior of Electrical Machines.
Graphs are helpful in Comparison of Power Savings and study of Torque, Power Factor, Power Output, Load and Efficiency.
Energy Conservation is Possible by Practical Usage of the Software.

MINOR PROJECT

Transformer Design in 'C' on UNIX Platform. This Project was modeled to accept various Input Parameters and Output was complete Dimensions, Quantity and Material required for transformer manufacturing.
